WELCOME

To the 5th edition of the 24:7 Theatre Festival, Manchester’s annual feast of new writing for theatre!

From Monday 21 – Sunday 27 July 2008
our 16 plays bring you 16 writers, 16 directors, 65 actors and 35 crew members. That’s 132 people for starters! Adding on the festival team and volunteer staff, we are proud to announce that more than 200 24:7ers are working together to bring this festival to you.

As ever, all the performances
will take place in non-theatre venues in Manchester city centre, including the landmark Midland Hotel, Pure in The Printworks and music store zavvi in the Arndale. And with tickets at no more than £6, your only problem is whether you can get hold of any!

More than 11,000 audience members
have enjoyed 24:7 performances so far. And this year, with your help, we hope to increase that number by at least 5,000.

24:7 is Manchester at its best –
innovating, developing and presenting an original and modern way to look at theatre.

And in partnership with you, it’s the perfect combination!

“PODCASTS” – Theatre As Radio
In a unique move for a theatre festival, extracts from this year’s plays have been turned into radio drama and comedy. On each show page you can click on for a rare chance to hear theatre as radio and catch your first glimpse of the variety and acting talent that makes up this year’s event.

There Are Many Ways
to find festival information on this site. The best recommendation – click around and have fun! Each click will help you decide that you MUST see more and more. (Yes, we know it means you’re going to be busy seeing everything. And no, we’re not sorry!)

TICKETING
At any time you can go and buy tickets by clicking the link on any of the show pages or on the button at the top right of this web page.

IN SUMMARY
We sound excited because we are. This year’s portfolio of premières is our best collection yet of new, fresh, intriguing and compelling 60-minute shows.

Take the chance to see work by these writers while you can still get a ticket. We guarantee that in the near future, writers and plays that had their first outing at 24:7 will become nationally renowned.

Feedback
We'd love to hear what you think of 24:7. Feel free to click here and send an email!
