The Arts Council England is delighted to continue support for 24:7 Theatre Festival in 2009.

The Co-operative are delighted to sponsor this year’s 24:7 Theatre Festival. As a Manchester-based grass roots operation we feel that 24:7 is exceptional because of its development of creativity and its local community involvement. We’re proud
to be able to help such an admirable festival continue to grow and are very excited that our very own head office complex – New Century House – will be hosting a selection of these shows: it will be a fantastic and enjoyable event for all.

The festival is sponsored by Manchester City Council as part of the Council’s annual ‘events to listen out for…’ festivals and events programme.

The MEN have been supporters of the 24:7 Theatre Festival, covering its progress as it has pioneered its way on to the Manchester festivals scene. Now bigger and better than ever, developing theatre and new writing, we are proud to be partnering with the festival in 2009 and hope it will continue to grow and be even more successful.

Glowing media coverage and expanding audience figures prove that 24:7 is an important showcase for Manchester’s vibrant theatrical talent.

Encouraged by regional and national interest, several plays have gone on tour and have enjoyed runs at prestigious venues, including Manchester’s Library Theatre, The Bolton Octagon and The Royal Exchange.

This kind of opportunity for new writing is rare and requires a special kind of nurturing.

We operate as a non-profit, limited company, which strives to support fledgling theatre companies by ensuring admin costs and ticket prices are affordable to everyone.

Sponsorship and funding are vital if we are to maintain and develop the very high standards of theatrical excellence associated with the 24:7 brand.

The highly publicised success of the festival means that our supporters are recognised as valuable innovators of an exciting and evolving enterprise.

With it's energy and open support of the playwright 24:7 has
re-energised playwriting in Manchester.
It has changed the landscape of theatre in the city in the most thrilling way.
