Naming the venues

We named the Elphick Stage in honour of Michael Elphick, a tireless supporter of 24:7 and friend to many in the local fringe scene. Renowned for finding solutions to technical problems, he always refused to be beaten. It took a savage illness to stop him. Our thoughts remain with his family.

The Pioneer Stage is named after the Rochdale Society of Equitable Pioneers, the first Co-operative Society and now part of the Co-operative Group. We are delighted with our close association, as 24:7 is a pioneering festival that makes new ideas succeed.
